SC 24 U.V. (0)  v.s.  ROCHESTER RED (1)

Rain would make for a slick field today. SC would be facing Rochester Red for the first round of the Founders Cup tournament.

U.V. was drooling at the opportunity to go up quickly as the Rochester Red team would start with only 9 players.  SC attacked over and over again but just like the game before could not put a goal into the net. Now the Rochester team had 10 players. The new addition to  the U.V. team was Curtis Reid who is a fast forward with a quick shot. The play seemed to be sloppy for many parts of the game , SC could not get into a groove being a man up. Rochester would finally get a full team on the field and back and forth the ball would go. the Rochester defense would turn away runs from SC, and in return the SC defense would turn away the advances of Rochester. Half time would stay 0-0.
The second half would bring the same game play as the first half nothing but back and forth into each end. with 15 minutes left the Rochester team would break thought the SC defense and put in a goal. SC would not let up as a play over the left side to Joe Arwady and he would put the ball into the net for a 1-1 tie, unfortunately the goal would be called off-side. SC would make a few more attempts to get the ball into the Rochester net but failed to do so.

One of the players said "We deserved to lose this game because we were up 2 guys, and couldn't convert a goal". A very disappointing game for the U.V. team.
