SC 1924 A (2) v.s. Berkley (2)

The heat and humidity returned for the game today making it one of the warmest yet this year. The Sport Club side looking to start the second half of the season strong, they added another new player to help the push to the finish. 15 minutes into the first half Mike Fabbri was taken down in the box and awarded a penalty kick, which he buried for the 1-0 lead. The Berkley side put together a string of passes down the right side and were able to get a shot off before the SC keeper could challenge, bringing the score even. The next goal for Berkley was lucky for them and unlucky for Sport Club, as the SC keeper slipped going up for the cross, which allowed a Bulldog to place the 2-1 goal into the net easily, which was the halftime score. In the second half, Gino Farnese restarted the play quickly with a throw in, and a pass from Mike Fabbri broke Curtis Reid in behind the defense for the 2-2 goal, and that is how it would end. "It was so hot out there in the second half, both teams really quit challenging the ball unless it was right at their feet" Chris Stockman said. "We'll take a tie to start the second half, it's something we can build on."  The next game is Sunday, September 12 at Austrian Park at 11:00am against Anchor Bay
