The Sport Club UV 40 records another win with a 4 to 3 victory over Anchor Bay. The match was held at Festival park in New Baltimore on Wednesday June 15th. The Anchors took an early lead with not one, but two goals into the first period. The gun and run tactic seemed to work for them as the Sportster defense was unable to cover. Basil Badawi scored the first UV goal after the ball ricochet off of several Anchor defenders. The score at half was 2 to 1. The second half saw a change in the game. The Anchor's were dragging as the Sportclub controlled the ball. Basil scored again followed by Bill Bayer on a nice drive. Randy Bart scored the fourth goal on a picture perfect cross from Marty Marchesi. The pressure was on and everyone was getting in on some shooting action, even Dave Fleischer. His shot "almost" went in but he hit the post on a shot from his injured leg. (Injury acquired during weekend tournament in Windsor). Anchor Bay rallied for another goal but was quickly shut down by the UV defense. Patrick Weekhout was in goal for the Sport Club.  Nice win guys!!
