What a match; as the Sportster’s trounced the first place Carpathia
Kickers 4-0. Midfielder, Randy Bart started things off when he carried the
ball from midfield, beating the Carpathia defense to score an unassisted
goal. Many Kickers were caught standing around on that one. Shortly after,
Basil Badawi stepped up and scored as Carpathia was carrying on about an
un-called offside. “Play until the whistle is blown guys!” Badawi scored
again as he slipped passed a defender and easily hit the target. The score
at the half was 3-0 and ASC was determined to not have a repeat of the last
match. In the second half, Carpathia regained some of their composure, but
it was short lived. ASC continued to control the ball and keep ball
possession in the opponents end. Joe Arwady was tripped just inside the
box and was given the penalty kick which he banged home to make it 4-0. As
ASC pulled ahead, a few tempers flared from Carpathia club as they took out
their frustration on their opponents as well as their teammates. The tail
end of the match started to resemble an ice hockey game. After the game,
Manager Randy Bart commented “Everyone played well and we looked like the
team we should be.”
