The
team had their best start yet as they dominated the first half 3 to 0 at
Austrian Park. Jessie Travino scored with a classic header on a cross from
Joe Arwady. Stuart Kelley scored soon after with a strong rebound shot.
Then, Joe Arwady was in position on the backside for an easy shot into the
net. The team was feeling confident going into the break. But the 2nd
half was a different story. It was like the switch went from “on” to
“off”. With only two subs, the teamed looked fatigued and began missing
balls, passes, and their marks. BESSA pulled it together and flooded the
backs with players making several drives and scoring. “We could not get our
foot on the ball” said one ASC player. All in all the game ended in a tie,
but the team was disappointed they could not hold onto a nice lead.
