Another disappointing loss for the Sport Club 40+ as they fell to Plymouth Reign-Green 3-1.  The Sportsters started the game with 10 players but were soon at full force.  Facing the bright sun, they controlled the ball well with several runs and crosses.  The first goal of the game came from Randy Bart on a throw in.  That’s right, a throw in.  From the left side of the pitch, Randy tossed the ball at the near post.  The goal keeper bumbled the ball on the rush from a Sportster and the ball bounced into the goal.  Nice job Randy!  Plymouth matched the goal and the first half ended 1-1.  The steam ran out in the second half as Plymouth slipped passed the fullbacks on several occasions scoring 2 more goals.  Missed opportunities and some defensive mistakes seem to be hampering the team.  Regardless, everyone has been playing hard and seems to be enjoying the new team.    Jeff Poole was injured early in the first half.  Helmut Thielemann played in the goal.
