The Sport Club 40+
fell to the Chaldean Arsenal 4 to 1. The pitch seemed bigger then
normal, especially after playing our last three games at home. As they
say, Size does matter, and the Sport Club used this to their advantage
working the outside and sending in some nice crosses. Unfortunately, we
were unable to connect with the net. Joe Arwady was finally able to put
one in on some inside pressure. The game turned a little aggressive, no
nasty, as the Chaldeans stepped up their attacks. We had great pressure
on the inside stopping the Chaldeans from controlling the ball. We on
the other hand had to many missed shots. The score at the break was 1
to 1. The Sportsters continued to do well in the second half. However,
Dave Fleischer re-injured his ham string leaving us with zero subs.
Shortly after that, Basil Badawi received a red card on a controversial
call. With a man down and no subs, the defense let down their guard and
the Chaldeans were able to score. Shaun Hegarty, was a tremendous help
with his energy and English foot work. Helmut Thielemann played in the
goal and did a great job with many stopped shots. Everyone hustled and
worked hard making it a tough loss.
