The ASC B-team kicked off their inaugural season with a bang by dominating the Romeo Raiders in 3-1 win on Sunday afternoon.  Melding a combination of ex-Lancers with ASC newbies and veterans seemed to be a formula for success as the team gathered at Simpson Park for their first match of the season. ASC started strong, playing solid defense and keeping the ball in Romeo’s end.  Jim Russo scored early on a corner kick from Ron Karam that allowed ASC to strike first, 1-0.  Before halftime ASC would go up 2-0, as Chris Noe kept the ball alive in the middle with a great pass to Ron Karam that he buried in the back of the net.  The second half went back an forth until a weak penalty in the box cost goalie Paul Thomas the shutout.  Romeo easily scored on the ensuing d irect penalty kick, 2-1.  The game was put away late in the second half with a second goal by Jim Russo from Ron Karam on a cross.  Final score 3-1.
