Home field advantage was not too kind to the Austrian Sport Club 1924 B-Team as scorching 95 degree temperatures accompanied their Sunday home game against Club Italia B for game five of the MUSL season.  The 1:00PM game at Austrian Park began competitively enough with the ASC-B controlling the ball in the Club Italia end for much of the first half.  Goalie PJ Thomas and the ASC-B defense kept the Club Italia strikers in check until late in the half when Club Italia scored to go up 1-0

After halftime, a quick goal by Club Italia B put them up 2-0.  It was soon answered by the first ASC-B goal of the day which was the result of some great passing up the middle.  Tony

game 5 recap

Premceski carried the ball up the middle and found a streaking RC Bunger who put the ball in the back of the net to bring the ASC-B team back into the game.  The effects of the heat and humidity, coupled with another week of very few subs began to take their toll on the ASC-B team as the game began to slow in the later part of the second half.  A free kick resulted in a third goal by Club Italia B to put the Italians in control of the game with a 3-1 advantage.  One last goal by Club Italia B before time expired rounded out the contest and ASC-B posted a loss in their home opener.  Final Score 4-1.
