s greeted the team as they arrived in Ferndale for Game three of the MUSL s=
eason against the Intra B squad. The sun was out, but a steady breeze=
from the south kept the temperature moderate. The soccer field at Fe=
rndale High School was a modern FieldTurf synthetic surface, so a very fast=
game was expected. The quickness of the Intra B squad was on display=
as they scored three quick goals putting the Austrian Sport Club B-team in=
a hole from the start. They were down 3-0. Just before the hal=
f Mark Sokolowski scored on a header from perfectly placed John Sullivan co=
rner kick. The comeback was on as Austrian Sports Club pulled within =
two goals as the first half came to a close 3-1
For the second half, with the wind in there face, ASC B tightened u=
p the defense and tried to mount a comeback. Intra B scored again put=
ting ASC B down 4-1, but ASC B responded. Jim Russo received th=
e ball wide on the right side near midfield. He carried it towa=
rd the middle of the field as Ron Karam angled from the left side toward th=
e goal. Russo fed him a hard, 20 yard pass. Gaining control of =
the ball, Karam quickly turned losing his mark and beat the keeper from out=
side the box, to pull the team within two goals 4 – 2. Toki Nes=
torovski placed a couple of nice indirect penalty kicks in front of the goa=
l, but ASC B snipers were unable to convert. The game ended in an ASC=

A rainy, Wednesday was t= he set for the ASC A vs.Troy Chargers. Focusing on a win the team was ready= to play. SC passed well and had many chances in the first half, especially= when Basil Badawi weaved his way through the remaining defender and hammer= ed a shot as he fell, banging it off the crossbar. The game stay 0-0 at hal= f. SC 'A' continued to play well. The defense were very strong today lead b= y Chris Stockman who continually made the incoming thru balls pay dearly by= forcing them back into the Chargers
