Austrian Sport Club-B vs Romeo Raiders
This long anticipated rematch pitted the Austrian Sport Club B-Team against the second place Romeo Raiders. With the Austrian Society's
Waldfest as a backdrop, and the promise of multiple beers afterwards, it was sure to be a hotly contested matchup. In week one of the regular
season, ASC-B prevailed with a 3-1 victory over Romeo, representing their only loss of season. But on this day, with rain clouds parting to ensure ideal weather conditions, ASC-B was outplayed by a superior Romeo squad. ASC-B started quickly, posting the first goal of the game as Ron
Karam drilled the ball into the upper corner of the net. The pass to Karam came from new Sport Club acquisition Jerry Prall in his first game of the season. The Romeo Raiders countered with two goals of their own to a take a 2-1 lead into the half.

In the second half, the Romeo Raiders scored two more unanswered goals keeping the ASC-B defense on their heels to take a commanding lead at 4-1. ASC-B attempted to mount a comeback late in the second half with another Ron Karam goal after a great individual effort by Jim Russo. Russo took the ball up the middle, weaving through defenders, and found Ron who put it in the back of

							the net. ASC-B now trailed 4-2. One last goal by Romeo put the final nail in the ASC-B coffin and closed out the final game for PJ Thomas as ASC-B Goalie. Thomas had a fantastic game, making several amazing saves as he faced a couple one on one breakaways. PJ easily played his best game of the season and will be sorely missed, as he's taken a promotion at work that will prevent him from playing on Sundays.
